Artesian Strings is an after-school orchestra program that meets at the Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Discovery (CCID) in Providence, Utah.
I'm Ann Marie Spendlove. I've been teaching music for twenty-three years. (!) I have a degree in Music Education from Utah State University. I've taught private lessons to piano and violin students, and beginning and intermediate orchestra for Cache County School District and Mountain West String Academy. I have loved music my entire life. (I even loved practicing when I was a kid. That's how much I love music.) I also love hiking, taking pictures of wildflowers, Star Trek, and riding a tandem bicycle with my awesome husband. My other creative endeavors include baking and pyrography (that's a fancy name for wood burning). I'm also a mother to four wonderful kids.
Why did I call my business Artesian Strings? It sounds like artesian springs, and the house I grew up in gets its water from an artesian well. That means the water flows up and out of the well without having to be pumped. My job as a teacher is to tap into my students’ natural musical abilities and let them flow freely to the surface.
